CELEBRATE COLOUR WITH DICK PAGE, SUI HE, AND EROTYKA TOKYO PARIS!

As the renowned runway makeup artist, artistic director of Shiseido, and collaborator of The Reality Show No. 4 “Beauty is the New Fashion”, Dick Page has pushed the boundaries of the art makeup dishing out daily beauty tips to high fashion makeup shake ups.

Celebrating the latest 2014 Spring maquillage collection, a lavishly kawaii launch party was held at IDOL in Aoyama, welcoming the former club kid (and butcher) and the Chinese goddess-it-girl-model-of-the-moment and Shiseido campaign girl, Sui He.

Mr Page’s artistic studio-the place where he dreams up all of those fabulous colors- was recreated in the space centered around a long table with striking Hollywood style lights. Visitors tested out the latest collection that included lip sticks that Dick named after Japanese traditional elements like Shoyu (soy sauce) and Yuzu (citrus), and plenty of well decorated spots to shoot the perfect selfies. (Bravo to the party hostess Yoshiko, who is our dear friend and a sexiest-momma!)

What? You weren’t invited to the party? We swear you were on the list! Well it will almost feel like you were there if you check the special website and and video by Erotyka Tokyo Paris featuring the creme de la creme of Tokyo cutie pies (and of course the bearded Mr Page). Up only until the end of December!

ATTITUDE AND THE A, B, C’s OF CHLOE

Gaby Aghion was a fashion psychic, her brand Chloe which was established in 1952 fell into line as a pioneer of ready-to-wear, and her effortlessly chic and feminine aesthetic with a playful mind is now a universal language in the world of fashion.

The tome “Chloe Attitudes” celebrates the 60th anniversary of the brand. Launched during Paris fashion week with a cocktail at the Saint Honore flagship store hosted by our friend, the book’s legendary art director Marc Ascoli, it’s made its way to Dover Street Market Ginza accompanied with special installation of archive collections.

See the crystal embroidery, trompe-l’oeil prints and laser cut dresses by successive designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Phoebe Philo also on view at the 2012 exhibition “Chloé. Attitudes” geniously designed by Judith Clarke at the Palais de Tokio. Of course for your purchasing pleasure, the latest bags named after the alphabet theory that Madame Gaby advocated 6 decades ago- Alice, Baylee and Clea, who would you choose?

By the way, what did you think of the Chloe sponsored “Eternity Dress” performance by fashion historian Olivier Saillard and l’acctrice Tilda Swinton (ends November 24th!) at Beaux-arts de Paris? Eternity vs playful prete-a-porter. Hmmm…

Chloe Attitude launching exhibition at Dover Street Market Ginza runs until December 12.

THE GLOSSY WORLD OF NARS X GUY BOURDIN

We must have wished this collaboration into existence.

Guy Bourdin’s photos are now a consumable, wearable THING! Nars, bless him, unveils a covetable line of cosmetics inspired by the late fashion photographer.

Guy’s sensual, provocative, exotic, surrealistic and seductive view on fashion and photography have become the exclusive holiday collection.

Ladies, drag queens, and those taking the SS14 Saint Laurent menswear look literally must complete their looks with the scarlet red rouge lipstick (of course!). The collection of decadent blushes, smoky eye palette and nails polishes are now available at Nars shops and in Tokyo at a pop-up store which is open until this Sunday. Holy ground!

WE HEART SKULLS AND ALEXANDER MCQUEEN×DAMIEN HIRST

We’ve been waiting to see what happens when two of the most striking figures of the fashion and art scenes collide. The hotly anticipated Alexander McQueen and Damien Hirst collaboration was finally unveiled as a series of beautiful silk scarves with magical prints by the contemporary art scene guru.

The exclusive collaboration celebrates the 10th anniversary of the signature skull scarf, and features 30 distinctive kaleidoscope patterns of luminous insects.

The savagely beautiful collection was also captured on video by Solve Sundsbo, who also directed a video for the Met’s McQueen retrospective in 2011.

Most importantly, these babies are available in limited numbers so GO GRAB YOURS at McQueen boutiques (or online store) RIGHT NOW.

LIBERUM ARBITRIUM IS HAVING“FUN”

Liberum Arbitrium. Say that three times in a row fast! The designer of this up and coming menswear brand Shinsuke Mitsuoka graduated at the top of his class from Nottingham Trent University in 2010 in London where he presented his debut collection the following year. Soon after he made a triumphant return to Tokyo where he’s presented at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week since 2013 S/S.

Totally wearable yet super modern design aesthetic with flattering silhouettes are what you can expect, the acquired elements for the this season’s “Fun” collection are a series of effervescent graphics.

Inspired by the collage work of London based photographer/artist John Stezaker, various graphics are printed on nylon shirts, neoprene bomber jackets and t-shirts which delight the eyes with an urban, chic and sophisticated touch.
