We were barely click clacking in our heels by the time day 7, or was it 8 came around.
But this was a trip to Exotic City with Phillip Lim and BLITZ Lane Crawford! Palais Royale’s Joyce was became a lush tropical garden to perfectly frame the brand new precious skin bag collection designed by Lim-3 different designs in black and emerald green, each piece available in a lot of only 20.
The crowd was so colorful and stylish, must have been some Asian mega pop stars around I didn’t recognize, and included our faaaavorite editors like Angelica Cheung of Vogue China, Tank’s Caroline Issa, the lovely Penny Martin of The Gentlewoman who I chatted with about the new issue featuring Robyn.
Double trouble, no, this season’s Metiers d’Art collection is a TRIPLE threat ambush set in Paris-Dallas-Tokyo.
In what may be Karl Lagerfeld’s most unique Metiers d’Art collection yet, he took us on a trip deep into the heart of Texas mixing Parisian chic and cowboys and Indians. You see, back in the early 70‘s Mademoiselle Coco stepped into Dallas town to receive an honorable award from Neiman Marcus, et voila, inspiration was born for the collection which hit the stores just a couple of days ago.
An entire floor of the yet to be open Toranomon Hills, a new Tokyo hot spot, was transformed into a wild west saloon, the neverending runway was viewed on retro Americana style laid-back leather couches, bar counters and stools, and billiard tables.
Supreme couture artisanship went wild yet astonishingly romantic- elaborate embroideries depicting Native American motifs, as well as shimmering fringe, sleek leathers and turquoise jewelry. Caroline de Maigret ended the show as a wild west style bride in white topped with a fabulous headress leaving us all in the dust as she walked into the Tokyo sunset.
Who else came along for the wild ride? At renowned fashion legend Jerry Hall, and our fave British cowgirl Alice Dellal, how could we forget G Dragon, and a slew of Japanese talents like Mika Nakashima in wicked ponytails, Meisa Kuroki, Verbal and many more. We were hoping for a mechanical bull too, but guess you can’t have it all…

But maybe there is hope in the new mini temple to defiance, the just opened second-hand store Haruno Tokyo. Run by Ryota the former manager of iconic Shibuya second hand store Nude Trump, this small chamber is a blast back-to-the-80s neon pink universe filled with vintage treasures.
Don’t miss the beautiful Versace silk shirts, a series of rare European army jackets, authentic Seditionaries’ bondage jackets, or one-of-a-kind pieces from local designers such as hardcore guy-liner SKIN or iLiL by Rachel, who makes patchwork pullovers with graphics “SHINE” (which means DIE). Ouch!
